Appreciation of the monthly, or so, rotating art gallery at Akron Coffee Roasters. This month is featuring Isabella Troutman.

While taking Ted on his early morning walk, we encountered a neighbor chasing her puppy around the perimeter of our building. Dude, the puppy, had slipped his leash and wasn’t interested in being caught. I tried luring him into the building with treats, to no avail. Greg came down, sat patiently on the sidewalk, and eventually got Dude to trust him enough so that Greg could snag him by the collar.

Moved in to a new office last week. It’s spacious and lovely and now I have a La Croix shelf. So schedule a meeting with me and grab a refreshing beverage.

First time playing with LEGO’s in 35 or so years. I forgot how much fun they are. Also, this LEGO set Everyone is Awesome, is well…awesome. 🌈

What feels like never-ending construction. But the finished result. Yup, It’ll all be worth it. Also, picked up my Dad at the airport for his visit to celebrate the graduations of my nieces. First time I’ve seen him since the summer of 2019.

New revamped portions of downtown Akron looking all lovely. I couldn’t be more pleased by our decision a couple of years ago to make downtown our new home. Also, even though the bike lanes are clearly marked, more often than not, cyclists and scooter riders are on the sidewalk, next to the bike line, instead.

Today, I was a lot. All sorts of extra. Maybe even, an assault on the eyes? But also, baby orange armadillos.

What a lovely weekend. Chock-full of beautiful weather. On Sunday we took Ted for a stroll through downtown Cuyahoga Falls, along the river (EXTREME DANGER) and then to the Cascade Valley Metro Park Overlook area. Nature recharged a few souls that day.

Since the library reopened back in July, post covid shut down, I’ve been helping out in our Magazine & Newspapers Division. We’re a little short-staffed currently. After cookbooks, magazines are my second favorite thing at the library. I’m amazed by the depth of our periodical collection. There’s literally something for everyone (hello, Dolls Magazine). The next time you browse or borrow them, check out the stickers on the back that I lovingly adhered.

Picked up a cool print from an Etsy shop that sells retro-inspired National Park posters. Loved this one depicting the park that’s right here in our backyard. Think I might also want to get the Olympic and Great Smoky Mountain prints, since we’ve visited those parks. Maybe the Acadia print, too. We hope to visit there when we are in Maine, this fall.

It snowed last night. Which made for a pretty walk to work this morning. Though, I wouldn’t be upset if this was our last bout of the white stuff. Also, that mural stops me in my tracks, every time.

Phase 2 of the Main Street Corridor project trudges on. And on. I heard yesterday that the finish line has moved from May 31 to July 31. It will be lovely when it’s all done. That’s for sure. We’ve just got to hold on a little longer.

Took a vacation day to wait for the Spectrum internet technician to fix our sporadic issues. Unresolved, but maybe we’re making progress. Or we switch to another provider. Still had plenty of time to run some errands (hello Target) and several walks with Ted. The cherry blossoms are in top form right now.

It’s been about a month since we moved two floors down to a new apartment. More space and a bar to sit at in the kitchen. Ted seems to be acclimating well. The first three weeks, Greg was still working from home. He’s back in the office for two more weeks, then home again. All is well and Ted is swell.

A celebration of the cherry blossoms along the towpath in downtown Akron on Saturday night. The trees were just beginning to bloom. The lanterns placed by Downtown Akron Partnership added a nice touch to the festive atmosphere. It was lovely to see masked people enjoying the evening. I know there were smiles under those masks. You could see it in their eyes.
